How To Setup Bigrock Domain On Blogger Platform

Blogger is the free blog publishing platform from Google, that lets you create and blog within 5 minutes as it does not require hosting unlike WordPress CMS. Blogger blogs are hosted on Google servers freely, all you’ve to do is register on blogger.com using your Google account to start using Blogger.

So, if you wants to start blogging or wants to create a static website of your business then after registering your blog using your Gmail id on blogger.com, you’re just one step away from creating a professional web portal. And that step is buying a domain and mapping it to your blogger blog as Blogger blogs created on .blogspot subdomain, so if you create a blog on Tech News, its URL will be – technews.blogspot.com  and for removing this .blogspot subdomain, you’ve to buy a domain and map it to your blogger blog so that you can get a customize professional URL as – technews.com.

You can buy your domain on the domain registrar like Godaddy, Bigrock, Namecheap. We’re taking Bigrock domain as an example to setup it with Blogger platform. We assume that you’ve purchased your domain from Bigrock. If you’re having namecheap domain follow our namecheap guide to setup on blogger. So, lets get started to setup Bigrock domain on your blogger platform.

How To SetUp Bigrock Domain On Blogger Blog

Step 1: First of all Login to your Bigrock Account and under ‘List of Orders’ click your domain.

Step 2: Click on ‘DNS Management’ from right side and select ‘Manage DNS’.

Step 3: You’ll be on ‘A Records’ section now, click ‘Add A record’ and leave ‘Host name’ as blank, enter 216.239.32.21 in Destination IPv4 Address, do not make any changes TTL and click Add record.

Step 4: We’ve to add 3 more ‘A records’ using the same above method with Destination IPv4 address as below:

216.239.34.21

216.239.36.21

216.239.38.21

Leave the host name blank, don’t make any change to TTL and after entering these 3 IPv4 address, add them using ‘Add Record’ button.
Step 5: From the same page, click on Cname from the top bar and enter www in hostname, in value select the second radio button and enter ghs.google.com and click Add record to add the Cname record.

Step 6: Login to your blogger.com using your Gmail account and click your blogger name to map custom domain.

Step 7: Click ‘Settings’ from the left side and then click ‘Basic’, now under publishing section, select add a custom domain and enter your domain name and hit save.

Step 8: Now, you’ll see an error something like this, “ We have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 12” its because Google added one extra security level and we need to verify the ownership of the domain. So, for the same, we have to add two extra Cname record in Bigrock > DNS Management > DNS > Cname Record.

So, from these two Cname record you’ll be shown, the first field of the Cname record will be entered in Bigrock hostname and the second value of the Cname will be entered in ‘Bigrock Destination Address’,  as we mentioned before don’t make any changes in TTL and hit Add record.

You’re done! Wait for some hours for propagation. And once the propagation completed you can choose your custom domain by going to Blogger settings > Basic> Blog Address>Edit.
If you wants to redirect your non-www version domain to www version , then click the check box for redirection and hit save.
Hope our tutorial helped you to use Bigrock domain with blogger. If you’re facing any kind of issue in setup of big rock domain with blogger, drop in the comment section and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
